SIZZLIN’ SUMMER SMOOTHIES

As the heat rises, cooked foods lose their appeal and cold smoothies take center stage.

Instead of reaching for sugar laden ice cream, here are four cool smoothie recipes to keep your bikini bod in check.

Practical and delicious, these power packed drinks feel like a treat. Here are a few of my favourite recipes.

CREAMSICLE SMOOTHIE

(Prep: 5 mins| Yield: 2-3 cups| Servings: 1)

1 navel orange, peeled and segmented

½ cup frozen mango

½ avocado

1 tsp pure vanilla extract

½ cup (or to desired consistency) almond milk (or nut milk of your choice)

3 ice cubes

1 scoop vanilla or natural Sun Warrior Protein Powder*

Puree all ingredients in a high-powered blender until smooth. Serve chilled.

 

CACAO COCONUT SMOOTHIE

(Prep: 5 mins| Yield: 2-3 cups| Servings: 1)

½ cup coconut milk, canned

1 cup coconut water

2 pitted Medjool dates

2 tbsps. Giddy Yo-Yo Raw Cacao Powder*

½ tsp maple syrup

¼ tsp ground cinnamon

1 tbsp. flax seed

3-4 ice cubes

1 scoop vanilla or natural Sun Warrior Protein Powder*

Puree all ingredients in a high-powered blender until smooth. Serve chilled.

 

ALMOND MOCHA SMOOTHIE

(Prep: 5mins| Yield: 2-3 cups| Servings: 1)

1 cup (or to desired consistency) almond milk, unsweetened

½ cup unsweetened applesauce

2 tsp Dandy Blend (dandelion and chicory root coffee alternative)

2 tsps. Giddy Yo-Yo Raw Cacao Powder*

2 Medjool dates

1 tbsp. natural almond butter

3 ice cubes

1 scoop vanilla or natural Sun Warrior Protein Powder*

Puree all ingredients in a high-powered blender until smooth. Serve chilled.

 

BLUEBERRY SUPER SMOOTHIE

(Prep: 5 mins| Yield: 3 1/2 cups| Servings: 1)

1 cup full-fat coconut milk

½ cup coconut water

2 cups frozen blueberries

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

2 tbsps. shredded, unsweetened coconut (optional)

1 scoop vanilla or natural Sun Warrior Protein Powder

For an even cooler treat, pour any one of the smoothies into popsicle molds and freeze until solid and enjoy!
