We are a full service gym. Equipment ranges from T-Zone Health Vibration Technology™ machines (known to our members as the “jiggle machines”), treadmills, elliptical & row machines, bikes, life fitness weight machines, functional trainer, and a variety of free weights, weighted balls, ropes, BOSU and stability balls. We also offer classes for those individuals who enjoy physical activity in a group setting.

As well as offering free weights, machines and classes, we offer Personal Training, Yoga, and Massage Therapy.


Classes

Staying Alive Fitness Inc. has received acclaim for the variety and quality of our diverse offerings. Our range of classes accommodate beginner to advanced levels of physical fitness and capability.

Our classes include:

Pilates/Yoga Fusion

A Pilates based class blended with the elements of Yoga.  The class is taught in a vinyasa flow style which makes it a fluid, integrative experience.

Restorative Pilates

This class will work to strengthen your core, optimize joint stability, correct muscular imbalances and restore structural integrity to the body, thereby improving movement quality and overall function. 

Spin

A great way to exercise and at your own pace! Moving through hill climbs and tension rides to high energy sprints and speed work on our stationary bikes will leave you feeling on top of the world when you’re done.

Spin/Strength

Two great workouts in one class!  A 30 minute spin, followed by 30 minutes of full body muscle conditioning, moving from station to station and finishing up with stretching.

Kickboxing

A Bootcamp style workout with a Kickboxing twist! Using a mix of partner and group kickboxing drills combined with body-weight exercises, this high energy class will leave you wanting more! All Levels Welcome!

ZUMBA®

This class features fitness moves and dance rhythms set to high-energy Latin, International and modern beats for a full body workout. It’s an easy and effective FUN-filled cardio workout. Before you know it, your body is getting toned and your energy levels are soaring! You’ll wonder where the hour went. 

Tabata

Interval training at its best. 8 Rounds of each exercise, 20 seconds of work followed by 10 seconds of rest. What better than getting a cardio workout while performing strength training exercises!

Circuit Class

Want to get your heart rate up? Want to tone those muscles? Circuit training will do just that! Going from exercise to exercise with little rest to keep the intensity in your workout.

Yoga

Join in for the joyful practice of yoga. This class uses a combination of yoga flow, postures and breath to work on strength, flexibility and balance. An all levels class with focus on alignment, so students can take postures to a deeper level.


Massage Therapy

Leanne Monaghan is a Registered Massage Therapist, schooled at the Canadian Therapeutic College in Burlington, Ontario from 2002 – 2004.

Leanne constantly thrives to further educate herself in order to better serve her clients. Just recently she completed her latest massage therapy class “Releasing the Pelvic and Shoulder Girdles,” in continuation of her previous “Eslan Deep Massage” training. This latest class taught her that structural integration of the overall body and the realignment of frascia and connective tissue throughout the body are to be achieved.

Massage therapy may be required for the following reasons: rehabilitation after traumatic injury (insurance coverage accepted), whiplash injuries, pregnancy issues, sports injuries and general health. Leanne is qualified to perform these types of massages.

Personal Training

A personal trainer is an exercise professional with the knowledge and experience to offer advice and guidance in the areas of exercise and fitness. They will also assist with weight loss, exercise performance and improve wellness. A qualified personal trainer will design an effective, personally tailored exercise program for you and guide you through your workouts during private sessions. The purpose is to help achieve client-centered fitness goals through safe and effective exercise, by providing guidance and motivation. Celebrating your achievements will be OUR pleasure.

Trainers

Leanne Monaghan’s qualifications as a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) set her apart from your average Personal Trainer. With her knowledge of medical pathologies, Leanne can create a custom made program for rehabilitating clients with limitations, in conjunction with the clients’ physician or physical therapist. Furthermore, Leanne can offer assistance with diet modifications, should weight loss be the goal.

Terry McCann

Terry has always made fitness a part of his life. He’s been personal training clients for over 20 years and is now a Personal Trainer Specialist. He’s played up to Junior and Senior A hockey in his home province of Newfoundland. He’s competed in 48 hour Adventure Races, Mountain Bike Races, Ultra Trail Running events and Triathlons.

Terry’s passion is to bring out the best in his clients.

In his down time he enjoys walking his 2 dogs, in-line skating and kayaking.
